Slack is the top choice for teams to communicate. It provides a virtual workspace that helps teams maintain open communication in a business environment. With Slack, users can host voice and video calls with up to 15 participants and even screen share with a desktop app, empowering better user interaction. Slack also supports options for private and group sessions, and one of its best features is Slack Huddles–an informal meeting space that lets you directly talk to your channel where you can share screen side by side with your team. The platform integrates well with Dropbox, Google Drive, and Trello as well.

Best internal communication app I have used so far in my career. their UI is very user-friendly and the integration they have with other apps is next level.
none that i can think of it as they are continually improving the features.
Messaging internal employees made it so easy and the huddle features that I use every day make my work way easier.
- UX is intuitive and provides great customisation like Themes - Allows to share images videos, text etc. which makes easy for different teams to connect together. - Provides huddle feature which is great for communicating with other member - Provides a huge number of integrations with other tools like GDrive, Jira, Github, Trello which makes it easy to connect to Slack - Ability to create polls among the channel is a great plus!
- High cost when going with paid plan - Free plan allows to view only last 90 days data which is not that helpful to me - Takes around 1 GB of RAM in MacOS
- Messaging other members in the team - Communicating with team - Sharing daily scrum - Getting notified on only important things as we can mute a channel or person that is of less importance.
Slack has transformed how teams communicate, collaborate, and stay connected in the digital workplace. With its powerful features, intuitive interface, and extensive integrations, Slack has become an indispensable tool for businesses of all sizes. Here's why it stands out as a game-changer in team communication: One of the biggest strengths of Slack is its real-time messaging capabilities. The platform offers instant messaging, allowing teams to communicate seamlessly, share information, and discuss ideas in real-time. Whether it's one-on-one conversations or group discussions, Slack's chat functionality provides a dynamic and efficient means of communication.
Learning Curve: Slack's extensive features and capabilities can have a learning curve, particularly for new users. Navigating channels, understanding message threads, and mastering integrations may require time and effort. Potential for Information Overload: Slack's fast-paced chat environment, while efficient, can sometimes lead to information overload. The constant influx of messages and notifications may become overwhelming for some users, requiring careful management of channels and reports. File Management Limitations: Slack offers essential file-sharing and collaboration features but may not be the most comprehensive solution for managing and organizing files and documents. Users requiring advanced file management capabilities may rely on integrated tools or document management systems.
Real-Time Communication: Slack allows for instant messaging, facilitating quick and seamless communication between team members. Conversations happen in real-time, enabling faster decision-making and problem-solving. Channel Organization: Slack's channel-based organization system allows for streamlined communication and collaboration. Teams can create channels for specific projects, topics, or departments, making it easy to find and reference discussions later. Extensive Integrations: Slack integrates with numerous third-party tools and services, including project management tools, file-sharing platforms, video conferencing software, and more. This integration capability enhances productivity by centralizing workflows and reducing the need to switch between multiple applications.
easy to use platform for seamless communications
sometimes having too much noisy unnecessary notificatoions
easy and effective communication, helping in teams collaboration
You can do voice and video calls. You can share your screen with other peers and colleagues. You can share any documents with other people within the organization.
Needs a better internet bandwidth to stay connected. Sometimes there are outages in the services. The UI could have been better. There are many channels which are required to be created.
Guess slack is working on the application to stay connected even though the internet bandwidth is low.
Certainly offers a complete experience of communicating with people within the organization
I totally have nothing to state as a dislike I really enjoy using slack
It helps alot by letting users communicate easier with their fellow colleagues
One of the best things about Slack in our customer care operations is its real-time communication capabilities. With Slack, we can communicate instantly with our team members, ensuring quick response times and efficient collaboration. We can address customer inquiries, share information, and provide timely support, all within the same platform. The channel-based organization in Slack is also highly beneficial for our customer care team. We can create dedicated channels for different topics, projects, or customer groups. This structure helps us keep conversations organized and easily searchable, making it effortless to find relevant information and historical context when assisting customers. Another aspect we appreciate is Slack's integration capabilities. We can seamlessly connect Slack with our customer support tools, such as our ticketing system or CRM platform. This integration streamlines our workflow by consolidating relevant customer information and notifications into Slack, ensuring that our team has the necessary context to deliver personalized and efficient support. Slack's search functionality is a significant advantage for our customer care team. We can quickly search for past conversations, shared files, or specific keywords, enabling us to find relevant information and resolve customer issues promptly. Additionally, Slack's archive feature allows us to retain important conversations and reference them later if needed. The flexibility and customization options of Slack are also valuable to us. We can personalize our workspace, choose notification settings, and integrate various third-party apps and bots. This customization enables us to tailor Slack to our specific customer care processes and leverage additional tools or automation that enhance our productivity and efficiency. Lastly, the availability of Slack's mobile app is crucial for our team. It allows us to stay connected and provide support even when we are away from our desks or working remotely. This mobility ensures that we can assist customers promptly, regardless of our location. Overall, Slack's real-time communication, channel organization, integration capabilities, search functionality, customization options, and mobile accessibility make it a valuable tool for our customer care operations, facilitating effective collaboration and efficient support delivery.
While Slack offers numerous benefits for our customer care operations, there are a few aspects that some users, including myself, have found to be potential drawbacks. These points are based on personal experiences and preferences, so they may vary for different individuals or teams. Here are a few things to consider: Notification Overload: Slack's real-time nature means that notifications can be frequent and sometimes overwhelming, especially in busy customer care channels. It's important to manage notification settings effectively to avoid distractions and maintain focus. Learning Curve for New Users: Slack's interface and functionality may have a learning curve for individuals who are new to the platform. It can take some time for new team members to familiarize themselves with its features and understand how to navigate and use it effectively. Dependency on Connectivity: Since Slack is a cloud-based platform, it requires a stable internet connection for real-time communication and collaboration. In cases of poor or unreliable internet connectivity, it may disrupt communication and hinder immediate responses to customer inquiries. Pricing Structure: Slack offers various pricing plans, and depending on the needs of your team or organization, the cost may be a consideration. Some businesses, especially smaller ones, may find that the pricing for certain features or user tiers is not within their budget. Distraction and Time Management: Slack's chat-based interface can lead to distractions if not managed effectively. It's important to establish guidelines and best practices to ensure that team members can balance their availability for customer support while also focusing on their core responsibilities. It's important to note that these points are not universal drawbacks and can be managed effectively with proper usage and team practices. Despite these potential limitations, Slack remains a powerful tool for our customer care operations, providing valuable collaboration and communication capabilities.
In summary, Slack solves the challenges of fragmented communication, enables efficient collaboration, integrates with essential tools, provides powerful search capabilities, and offers mobile accessibility. These benefits ultimately help us deliver exceptional customer care, ensuring faster response times, effective teamwork, and improved customer satisfaction
I like the huddle and status feature of slack
I don't see any bugs yet! Which is extremely shocking for me as well
During covid times we were able to stay connected with our teammates. And it was quicy, easy and also has lots of options like status, profile, emojis, access to several apps such as Google Calendar, etc.
I like the most that you cna create public and private channels where you cna talk and discuss about anything that you would want to. The communication factor is the key in such groups and helpful to teams
I wish there would be screen share and they would make a way to scheudle meetings as well. The huddle feature could be improved and made like a valid competitor to zoom and Google meet. I do believe there is potential in it.
Communication within the team and communication in topics which are not business related but help to keep the organisation moving and happy in their own domains. Talking about work and non-work related items on separate channels.
Very good optimization. Useful features to organize your day and correspond with colleagues.
In my company, I had to log in to Slack every time I begin my shift which was taking too much time.
It is making internal communication easier and faster. All the present emoticons were really awesome and are helping to set the tone of the conversation.
The app is really simple and easy to use and connect with colleagues and share important stuff.
Slack is not safe and everyone has access to its messages
It helps us connect with a wide range of business officials and simplifies the conversations
Slack is a community platform for workers, business users and all others. This helps me to connect our team through this platform and easy to handle the application. I can easily convey my message to our team members which is a free platform.
First of all, I did know how to handle the application. After that, I could learn it easily. Otherwise, there is no issue with the application. This is one of the good software products.
There are no major issues. I can easily handle the application. It's very easy to install and connects easily to our team and I like to use the product and promote it to others.
channels, tons of add-ons, integration, automation... all you could wish for!
some of the very common features for SMEs could be developed into native features.
Async comm are done by Slack. It helps our company a lot.
Its the greatest system I have used to be able to contact my fellow co-workers in a very easy and friendly manner, this has been a very helpful tool in our new eay of work from home
Sometimes some attachments are not welcome in the system and that can be a hassle in our mettings but we can always change them and upload the correct ones in order to get the job done
The communication between our supervisors and us working from home, this is a great way to keep in touch no matter the distance and that build a space of understanding and great work even in a distance
Slack greatly enhances our communication across teams and streamlines coordination, which results in increasing productivity. This results in completing the tasks on time and making clients feel happy.
The cost and security are the primary concerns and nothing more than that to mention as a drawback for this application. Instead of the app, if we use Slack in the browser, it shows us Away if we move to other tabs. It would be great if this is fixed.
We can save and pin the vital message or threads so that at emergency times, we don't need to search for those things. We can set meeting reminders so we won't miss any of the sessions. Also, we can integrate it with Calendar so notification pops up before the events, making it easier to keep it in mind and attend it on time. It helps to keep the team connected so that we all will be on the same page. Also, quick meetings are done through Huddles, which makes it easier in terms of communication.
Slack’s search functionality is a very important part of my Slack experience. I love its advanced search capability , and how it makes it very easy for me to find specific conversations from amongst the thousands of conversations I have had on the Slack platform within the context of my organization. As a result of this fantastic feature, my productivity is boosted and time wasting is eliminated as I would probably spend hours locating conversations from my archives, if it weren’t for this search functionality.
With Slack, there is always the tendency to get overwhelmed by the amount of notifications received on a daily. There have been occasions where I have simply missed out of vital notifications as a result of the aforementioned non-stop notification I receive from Slack on a daily. Will be helpful if I am able to customize the kind of notifications I receive on my Slack app.
Slack solves issues around communication and extensive collaboration at my organization. It practically has transformed my department into a thriving community, where everyone is just a message away from one another.
It's easy to use, allows file sharing, audio/video call, channels... There is simply everything you need to have an effective internal communication.
Not disliking but better file management for projects would definitely be a plus. Also, if they could work on a way to handle external communication (done by email today) that would allow us to stay in the app.
Instant/fast communication with colleagues, allowing to update everyone on projects or open up debates on a topic.
it helps a lot when talking about team channels to discuss and collaborate with team members in real time
I don't like that there are some stuff that is only available in the payment version
messaging and collaboration about projects and topics inside the agency
Que puedo conversar con mi equipo de trabajo
Que los horarios establecidos para las notificaciones no pueden ser mas de 1 por día
Puedo tener una comunicación directa con todo mi equipo por los diferentes canales creados
