Slack is the top choice for teams to communicate. It provides a virtual workspace that helps teams maintain open communication in a business environment. With Slack, users can host voice and video calls with up to 15 participants and even screen share with a desktop app, empowering better user interaction. Slack also supports options for private and group sessions, and one of its best features is Slack Huddles–an informal meeting space that lets you directly talk to your channel where you can share screen side by side with your team. The platform integrates well with Dropbox, Google Drive, and Trello as well.

It is very swift and easy to communicate with the team. Easy to create groups and teams, and very good to keep dialogue with team members that are spread across our 4 office, which is very valuable to us as a PE-firm. It makes the threshold to keep in touch with people across our offices much easier, and makes the firm as a whole more dynamic and inspiring for that reason.
Downside is likely that you are never off. People can slack you at anytime, even in weekends. As it is so easy and swift to use, it is here a low treshold for partners or senior executives to send a slack with to-do's, so you never really get a break from work.
Slack solves the fact that we can work in teams easily even when team members often sit in different locations across the world. That being said, we use it a lot in our internal office as well, I even use it a lot with my team-member next to me here. I highly value Slack. It also gets the email correspondance down.
UX is entirely user-friendly and solves all dev-related communication needs.
Mobile apps have lots of bugs and desktop software takes some time to load messages.
Communication problems are solved by slack
It's very user friendly, easy to search previous posts, you can pin posts for easier reference, the emoji reactions make it so much fun for teams, it's overall great!
I honestly do not have any negatives to say about Slack; it's been such a great tool for us.
remote communication, managing a team, reference guide for important updates
The channels and group chats help collaboration. I know the entire company is a slack away and will get notified immediately. The integration with google calendar is really nice too so you can know at a glance if someone is in a meeting or out of the office.
The notifications can be kind of funky with the channels. I'm in a channel with my immediate team and I don't get notified when someone slacks in it and I won't see it until I open slack and look for it.
Communication as a company! We have a few company-wide channels that are great for random conversations and announcements that impact the whole company. It helps us feel close to one another when we're all working from home.
I love that I can have channels, groups and direct conversations. Also I love that I can be logged on different spaces so I'm in touch with some of my clients that use slack.
I have lots of channels open at the same time, I mean the amount of # to wich I'm subscribed is high.
We are a team of about 50 people located in different places in the country. Slack helps us to be connected and maintain good communication and stay in touch along the day.
Slack is easy to use and offers so much. Simple 1on1 messages, Groups (public and private), or just temporary chats between multiple users without opening another group and another and another... It also offers lots of connectors. Ex. it updates my status with my Outlook Calender and also shows me my calender in the morning. A simple click will open Zoom or Teams. And there is so much more.
I do not think the included video call options are great. To use it is really akward and the voice part is not on the same level as the competition. I do not use it anymore.
Slack helps to easily connect the employees in one central place.
I liked below things: 1) Notification feature with number of count 2) Integration with other platforms using webhooks 3) You can create channels as per your needs 4) UI is very interactive
1) If you are a part of the channel then you will receive message for every activity. so it's a distraction. 2) There is no automated messaging feature. 3) We can not see content after archiving a channel
It solved below problems : 1) Messaging problem (we can interact using messages, create channels, take calls) 2) Integration with other platforms using webhook 3) Monitoring of results
Ease of use and quick onboarding of new hires. We use slack on a daily basis and we linked it to our social media and website to enable our coworkers to view any new post and interact with it. We use a lot of integrations with clickup, chatbots for sales and customer requests, canva for post scheduling. The ability to have many workspaces and then many channels for different topics is an important feature.
The desktop version sometimes doesn't work for a whole day and we have to go without communication with the team.
Having the ability to discuss subjects in different channels inviting only the team members that are concerned. Slack enables us also to invite external consultants on a need base on a channel. The most important issue that is solves is centralizing all the notifications for the different automation that we put in place for sales, marketing, and customer management.
The best thing about Slack is its ease of use, its many integrations, the fact that it has an actual application you can download on different operating systems, and the precision of general communications.
The only thing that I do not like about Slack is the fact that when people reply to a thread, you have to find the specific response or go to the Threads section, but it does not notify you like the other types of messages do.
The most crucial problem that Slack is solving is being able to communicate instantly with anyone within your organization. Another great feature is the fact that the messages' history is saved, and you can go through months and months of history without losing important information. Finally, when you have to talk to someone rather than text them, you can create a huddle to have voice or video conferencing, and the interface for sharing your screen is simply spectacular.
A great cross-partner collaboration tool within the company. You can also add and communicate with people outside of your company which only requires approval from the admin. We are able to connect it with other APIs that we are using within the company. You can create workflows and automate/schedule activities
There is a limitation when messaging a group of people which is more than 10 but you can create a channel instead. Sometimes, it is difficult to look for files sent through Slack but manageable
Cross-company collaboration, connect with other outside of the organization, API connections that we are using within the company, Workflow builders, easier huddles with the team and meeting management
It creates a culture of efficient communication and helps to improve alignment and real-time actioning of information. Using Slack correctly can decrease the need of sending emails.
When not used properly, Slack messages and notifications can be overwhelming. The success of Slack's use highly depends on the company's culture around communication.
Slack is helping to reduce short emails that can be a message and increases the level of alignment and speed in the answers. Additionally, the new features that promote asyincroity of communication will help to avoid unnecessary meetings.
It has all the features for communication including and it works seamlessly at the same time
the settings section can be overwhelming and there might be some features that we are not aware of
We can pick the right audience and communicate clearly across the teams
I use Slack every day to chat with my coworkers about projects and other tasks relevant to our company. I love how easy Slack makes correspondence.
My only gripe with Slack is that I sometimes find searching for old direct message conversations with people difficult. Sometimes when chats disappear from my sidebar, it's complicated to track them down.
Slack makes it simple to quickly connect with people at my company without having to email or jump on a call. I am more productive as solutions can usually be solved fairly quickly when instant messaging.
I think slack is the best communication tool any organization can use to communicate between employees. It has almost all built-in features like thread mentions and huddle, making your work easier.
I want the interface of the huddle should improve as I believe it lacks some basic features like feasibility. Also, the notifications should be improved, and there should be an option for customization.
Slack is the one-stop solution for communication in an organization. It decreases the dependency on other apps like meet because it has all built-in features that we can merge with slack.
Simple, intuitive, and full of user-friendly features, Slack provides a unique way of communication and collaboration for both small and big teams.
Their notification system is so complex and they try to pay attention to when they send them, yet somehow I don't get them when most needed :)
Simple way of communicating with colleagues, topic-based channels, easy to use, awesome support team, social media team is rocking!
Being able to communicate with people inside the company, and at the same time, having records of everything publicly discussed whenever you need to access important information
Conversations are not necessary private, and sometimes it makes people not to trust it whenever talking to colleagues.
Communication across the company, especially to make it easier to address issues that involve different teams and people.
I like that it allows for communication with everyone in the organization, using whichever tools is best for communicating, such as text, voice, screenshare, or even video.
The free version of Slack doesn't allow for conversations to be saved beyond 90 days. This doesn't allow for a good search tool of conversations that were held in the past.
It helps us keep the team communicated and on track to meet our goals. It allows for quick communication and sharing of ideas. It even allows to be more productive than having to have meetings all the time.
The ability to share document and to pin message in a conversation
There is too much conversation going on. I feel like its get messy quickly
Slack is helping us to connect with other organisation. Its really practical since we are an agency and need to be in communication with many business partner.
I love how everything gets so organized in there. The search bar is the best because you can query by channel and author, making it much easier to find stuff you can't recall but know where you saw. The new design of the sidebar is perfect. I loved that I could hide all my channels and configure them so only those with unread messages or mentions are displayed outside the group; it made my work environment much cleaner and neat. Also, I LOVE that you can schedule messages!! It's helpful when you have an announcement for your team and want it to be made at some specific date and time. And the "remind me about this later" feature is the best way never to forget a task again.
It's not something to complain about, just an improvement I'd like to have because of my personal experience. We use our status in the company to display whether we are on a break, available, or in a meeting. When I set a status for a quick break, though, I can't put it to change back automatically after less than 30 minutes. I take ten or 20min breaks often, and if I can't set them to clear automatically, I tend to forget to change them when I'm back. I wish I could customize the "shortcuts" for the "Remove status after..." section to add a "clear after 15min" there instead of having to choose a date and time for every short break I take.
Organizing information: I can always find items saved in channels or specific conversations. Retrieving data: by consulting questions once answered before instead of asking them again and by the beautiful search bar that allows me to filter by channel, by author, by date, by whatever I want - basically!. Team collaboration: all my coworkers are there and they are organized by teams so I can easlily find the best person to discuss each subject.
Slack is the best app to communicate in an organization. It gives many features like Huddles & calls to speak effectively in our team. Also, it gives options such as creating a channel for effective communication.
There is no such thing however I would like to mention that when we start huddling the back ground music is very irritating & it needs to be changed. Apart from it, everything is perfect.
There are many problems that i am solving with slack & some of them are as follows- (A) Through the help of creating channels i am able to separate process-related queries which help to save time. (B) Effective communication leads to practical working & slack helps in that very effectively. (C) It Helps to create a good work-life balance.
