Work-life balance is perfect at Toptal!.
I don't have any suggested improvements.
Finding great companies and projects to work upon
- Always getting paid on time. - I can set the rate I want. - Most of the clients are good.
It might take some time to find a new Gig, mainly for the skills which are less popular.
Toptal is making it easy to find a client who pays well & on time. I worked on other freelancing platforms where most clients were looking for cheap work instead of quality work.
- Minimal time to get new clients - Toptal has various programs which help us become good developers.
Hourly rate change can be a little challenging.
Toptal is bringing the best developers all around the world and the best companies all around the world together. This helps me to work with great companies from anywhere.
The best thing about Toptal is that I can work remotely with companies around the world, it's especially useful if you live in a low-income or third-world country, as it opens doors that would be otherwise very hard to open.
In my experience there isn't always a great match between the projects and the interest of developers, the tech stacks aren't always a great fit. It would be better if the recruiters could share more of the project information so the developer can make an informed decision.
Toptal solves the problem of connecting freelancers with companies that need developers, it provides value for both the companies and the developers as salaries are higher than usual for thrid-world countries.
Toptal provides excellent opportunities in terms of learning and working. I can find experts in the IT area easily. And another important point is that you can find a job based on your free time.
There are several clients who do now know what they want. I faced some clients whose plans are not ready. In that case, it will be hard to work with them and plans change every time. I consider that one a waste of time for both developer and client.
Finding a developer that suits a position is a challenging process. Toptal can easily find a developer for a client and organize a meeting for them. Salary is always paid on time. There is not any mistake in the working system of Toptal. For me, my time is dynamic. Therefore I find Toptal really helpful.
Work from anywhere. Work with a wide variety of clients. Solve challenging problems for various small and large businesses. Fair payment scheme. Very good support from Toptal teams in terms of getting new clients.
There are a few downsides. Sometimes the clients are very demanding. The scope of work is more and the client would want to get the job done with very small amount of time.
Toptal is solving problems for various organisations by providing them with curated talents in each specific area thereby helping clients to solve their business problems in an efficient way.
The Toptal platform allows me to focus on what I do best: transferring my 20 years of experience working at top-tier investment banks around the world to provide financial services advice to assist client's in their search for financing. Toptal undertakes all the client sourcing, on-boarding, fee negotiation, and invoicing, allowing me to maximize my productive time with clients.
There is nothing thus far which i dislike.
Sourcing
The rate and flow is amazing. i like everything about it.
There are not many filters when looking for a job.
Toptal is helping me dodge unnecessary hr and technical interviews.
Toptal has a great process and clear easy to use platform for finding remote work. I like the fact that everyone has to pass several tests too, that makes it a source of quality people and gigs.
Nothing, it's the best platform I've used so far
I prefer to work from home in London, but the best jobs could be anywhere in the world, which makes them accessible to me.
Slack community, options for certifications and courses, jobs.
Not much yeat, so far the experience was great. It was a little harder for me to land the first job, but that's probably because I was looking for part-time only.
Interesting fully remote jobs for top companies outside of my country. Better salary.
I like that it's very easy to find work compared to others. The core staff helps a lot when needed.
I don't like Payoneer that much. (Only payment method for Turkey)
I solve a wide variety of problems. Other than the technical benefits, I feel like I improved my communication skills a lot.
I’ve been freelancing and working remotely almost exclusively for my entire career, and I’ve never seen an organization as efficient as Toptal. The aspect I like the most is that there are real PEOPLE - recruiters - available at any time. They are such a great support, helping you with your job search and with any other aspect of your career at Toptal. I was able to connect with a PHP job within a few days of joining Toptal!
Nothing stands out as a strong dislike, i am satisfied with the service
The problem of finding good quality work from reputable companies is solved with Toptal.
I enjoy working with Toptal because they help me fulfil the key values I strive for with the flexibility and benefits that remote work brings. Toptal provides a platform to jump into an array of challenging and groundbreaking projects with world-class clients and empowers me to carry my office with me to every point on the globe.
Nothing important to note on the dislike side.
For me, one of the big things Toptal always provided was an organized system that abstracts the need for me to spend time searching and vetting the clients, dealing with payments and other bureaucracy related matters. This, in turn, lets me focus more on what I actually want to be doing, which is coding, problem-solving and engineering in general.
Access to a great list of quality clients Ease of payment and reduced financial burden Many opportunities for professional development
Rates and contract negotiations have to go through Toptal and some might consider that a downside.
Having a continuous stream of work and income. Access to a network of like-minded professionals.
As any developer, I like to work on exciting projects, and Toptal always propose awesome engagemetns. Being able to work with the clients without the hassle of discussing about rates, contracts and agreements, it is really an advantage.
Not much actually, I always had good experiences with both the rectuiters and the clients. I think that the work of Toptal in filtering out the clients and matching the right candidate makes the difference.
I found many engagements on awesome projects.
Exciting projects, chance to work with large enterprise companies.
Nothing to dislike honestly, the only thing that can be improved is the profile portfolio management.
Skills improvement, building the portfolio, introducing with enterprise companies and clients.
The fact that all the logistics are taken care of for you.
A little opaque on the organizational structure and the potential you can achieve on the network
As a software engineer, a lot. The most fun part is that I can constantly grow my knowledge since each project is unique and different.
Reaching top world clients without leaving home. Specially useful for people located in countries with a very low wage rate.
Won't be that useful if you already have multiple clients in first world countries.
I've worked for multiple clients with different purposes. Right now I'm working in a company that creates brain training games and that certainly is very beneficial for people that need cognitive help.
The very best thing about Toptal is the fact that you don't have to handle administrative stuff. You can just do what you do best... in my case that's Prdocut design. I focus on designing and collaborating with my team. Toptal makes it so that it's just like you're a native employee.
Maybe not so much a Toptal issue, but more so the clients that post jobs. Sometimes you'll put in effort for several potential jobs only for them to pull out at the last minute.
Toptal is solving business development and steady job/income streams. It's nice to have continuous work without worrying about payment issues.
100% remote, quality of the clients you work with are higher and you really do changes in the companies you will work with.
It depends. Creating blog posts is time-consuming (expect investing 40+ hours per article) but worth it to do. The community is friendly but too big to maintain contact with everyone
Usually speeding up the development process, architecting new solutions, increasing code quality, configuring CI/CD pipelines, gathering requirements with non-tech colleagues (Product managers, Marketing, CEO, and others)
