@Tag person assign task responsibilities. Attach documents: not having to search thousands of emails but in the same line have all the attachments ready.
I think it would be good to add some formula functions that Excel has. I would like to make pivotes table in Smartsheet.
you don't need to walk behind people for deadlines. It helps me a lot in managing my time. Yes, I am more produtive.
I was a hard convert, Smartsheet was recommended to me by a peer, but I took a couple year to adopt it. I've been hooked on the product ever since; the sharing and collaborative capabilities make communicating and keeping the team(s) across multiple organizations up to date so much easier. I don't send a sinlge email, yet everyone on my team knows exactly what they are accountable for 24/7. A few years ago, there was talk of moving to a different platform, I offered that I would pay for the Smartsheet account personally if they would allow me to continue using it, but thankfully, that never became necessary!
I would like easier ways to aggragate the information across projects and across open item sheets. I would also like to see what changed on a sheet and what the value was previously. I would like to be able to enter a buget on a row and then be able to track change request revisions to that row and see the hostory over time.
Being able to connect multiple resources across multiple organizations on a singe project greatly streamlines my communication requirements and there are never misunderstandings becuase someone is looking a tthe wrong version of a plan. Dozens of emails are emliniated each week just by training the team to review their sheets.
My favorite thing about smartsheets is the forms feature. It is simple to set up a form by either setting up your columns or adding and dragging options in the manage forms tab. I personally use forms to collect attendance at events, concerns/feedback, and vacation requests.
The least helpful thing about smartsheet in my experience is I cannot easily copy and paste my data into an excel file. I can export, but sometimes I want to only take a portion. I've learned I can use my shortcut keys, but I can't simply right click to copy/paste.
For me, smartsheet's integration of filters, forms, collaboration and workflows solves the issue of easily identifying data collected through QR codes to a smartsheet form, sharing that data, and setting up workflows to instantly be notified of new data.
I highly recommend SmartSheet to everyone! It is a highly useful tool that is perfect for receiving, analyzing, and presenting information. I love how easy it is to customize formulas and automated workflows. It is extremely user-friendly and easy to learn. I also value the ability to create visually appealing dashboards that automatically update with new data in real-time. I have found a multitude of uses for SmartSheet in our team's office. Thank you, SmartSheet!
I have been using SmartSheets for two years now, and have nothing negative to say.
SmartSheet allows an easy way to capture, organize, and present data in real-time.
It is very easy to use as compared to Primavera & MS Project. Formulaes can be inserted which is a added benefit. Sheet can be shared with multiple people & If someone update the sheet every one will get the update on their system.
No dislike till now. I am a happy user. It took me only 1-2 days to get friendly with software & started making schedules by my own, using filters & generating reports.
It is solving major issues which every project manager faces during progress review. It gives the critical path of a project which can be monitored regulary & delays can be tracked & resolved to complete the project on time.
I love how user friendly Smartsheet is. It is so much easier to learn new skills than other programs. I think that the ability to create your own routines makes it so much fun to use as well.
The only thing about Smartsheet that I dislike would be the ability to have multiple sheets within one project.
Smartsheet is creating a more streamlined work process for me. The ability to house all of my contacts within one sheet and easily navigate saves time during my day.
Smartsheet is great for interactive sharing of data between businesses. I am able to log on and see multiple spreadsheets that our motor trade dealers update, which saves me time having to call or email them for information.
I don't think there's any downside to using smartsheet. It's very easy to use and loads instantly.
Smartsheet is a timesaving middleman, I can log on and see all the latest updates from our suppliers without having to chase for information. It saves everyone a significant amount of time which means I can focus on other tasks easier.
Simple tool for collecting data from a broad audiance via webform without the need for user accounts, then the ability to collate aggregate data insights in visual format.
The only thing I dislike about smartsheet is the recent hassle I've had in sorting our account to recieve GBP invoices rather than USD. I would like to see Smartsheet develope a couple of things: 1. VLOOKUP that doesn't depend on the look-up data being sorted alphabetically or chronologically. 2. VLOOKUP that can look-up from a Report, not just a Sheet (this would resolve point 1.). 3. A function in Dropdown that can source the dropdown options from a column within another Sheet OR Report with dependencies.
We are collecting data across the organisation in a simple way via webforms at key gateway points in our processes. This allows us to analyse aggregate data to track against lead indicator targets and monitor trends/variances.
Simple sheet for multiple users to use at once.
sometimes when trying to search it doesnt always find what you are looking for, although it is on the sheet
enabling users to view a sheet that is constantly being updated and changed. Also use task management to make sure teams are completing all tasks.
Fairly easy to understand, yet can handle complex organization and communication. We store meeting notes, client selections, create build timelines, and all are easily accessible. We can also create reports to quickly pull together information from multiple sheets.
It isn't easy to set up. We have one person who works closely with a SmartSheet consultant to set everything up and keep it functioning. Without an internal employee SmartSheet wizard, it would not be as functional for us.
It integrates our entire business from the moment someone signs a contract until the very end of warranty. It keeps us very organized and productive. Our performance is the best in the industry.
It combines familiar elements from software like Excel with collaborative tools, making it easy to share information and communicate with colleagues. I love that we can also store attachments and create reports/dashboards!
I'd love to see more messaging options added to the platform! Perhaps an instant chat feature so multiple individuals can easily converse about specific Smartsheet rows?
Smartsheet allows our team to store documentation, claim and track our work, communicate with each other with more ease, and have greater visibility on outstanding work.
I hopped on the smartsheet wagon about a year and a half ago. At the time our team was not utilizing Smartsheet in a way that benefited the team. I was able to quickly learn Smartsheet as it is incredibly user friendly, and create an Applicant Tracking System for our company. Our vendors were able to submit their candidates through a portal I created via forms, and our managers were able to review them on the back end of the portal. We went from having hundreds of emails in our manager's inboxes, to having individualized reports set up weekly, shrinking the overall impact to their inbox down to 1 email a week. In the past year and a half, we received nearly 3000 candidate submissions and hired amazing team members in the process. I'm so grateful for Smartsheet and the user friendly interface.
Aside from a few glitches here and there with automation, I can't really think of much that was an issue while using smartsheet. Sometimes the automation emails lag but nothing more than 15-20 minutes usually.
Prior to smartsheet, we didn't have an applicant tracking system. This caused our vendors to completely bombard our hiring managers with emails daily with new and existing applicants. Now, we go into smartsheet and view the outcome(or the automation is emailed to us) and we are able to give the agency updates immediately after interviews. No more emailing 100 times, calling, and bothering the managers. This solved a huge problem that we had and allowed us to free up the managers to do more than just read emails!
I love the ability to connect multiple viewers and editors. We get to share pertinent information across the business. I love the auto saving abilities as well.
I think there could be more external collaboration. I think being able to split sheets with certain content at the top and other tracking at the bottom would be ideal. I also wish there was a way to have the same name for columns and flexibility moving the first column.
Seeing real time data and others being able to have notes on updates happening. It's also solving the problem of tracking restaurants that are open or closed or about to. It gives the most accurate data.
Document attachment, comment, similarty to excel
Cost, moving the Date out of the samrtsheet and the end of the project
It helps me the organize the complete project with easy presentation to the client
Pretty dashboards that are live and easy to combine several sheets together
Does not provide several tabs in a sheet like Excel
Quick and easy access to everything. Nice dashboard views. Easy to share access with everyone who needs it
I like being able to work at the same time with my peers and knowing that no information will be lost. Automation rules are a big win for me, it keeps me on top of things and makes life easier.
Sometimes is not the most user-friendly, but I think that with some investigation you can find all the information available in the community center.
Having everything in one place, working together with colleagues, automating tasks, and giving reminders. Having an overview of everything.
The automation, forms, connections, and overall tools that allow for shared connectivity and communication amongst different team members. My team and I utilize the comment feature quite extensively.
I wish Smartsheet allowed for multiple filtering and sorting capabilities. It can be quite frustrating at times when attempting to filter and sort simultaneously.
To bridge a communication and work gap between multi-discriplinary teams and groups within my organization. It allows for real-time changes and feedback between all applicable groups.
The most beneficial aspect of Smartsheets is that all your data can be in one place, such as notes, attachments, and contact information. The system is easy to use as the structure is similar to other spreadsheets but with more bells and whistles.
There are several limitations to Smartsheets. One major limitation is that you can't unhide only a couple of columns in a sheet. If you want to see something, you have to unhide all and rehide the columns you do not want to see. This is a time consuming process if you have a very large sheet.
The benefit that Smartsheet has for my team is that it can easily be shared with internal and external users. It eliminates barriers to collaboration! It also increases efficiency as the team can comment on specific rows and it sends timely updates to the team.
Smartsheets is like Excel on steroids with added Project Management features. Add in formulas, dynamic reporting, and dashboards and it's a powerful tool! We've been able to make exactly the right information available to stakeholders via dashboards, which has decreased the number of questions asked to our team and increased trust we're working on the right things. The template sets are an amazing resource for getting started, and the documentation, training videos, webinars and community forums are so helpful in figuring out pretty much anything you need to do.
I find the formulas a bit tricky (both in concept and syntax), but I've always been able to figure out what I need via the documentation and community forums.
We use Smartsheets to communicate and track both within the team and outside of it. We track our projects against a baseline we set at the beginning to better understand current status, and also to better estimate for future development work. We make our current projects and recent releases visible via a dashboard, significantly decreasing the number of questions coming into our team.
In my time working with Smartsheet, I feel like I have only scratched the surface, and it has already revolutionized our ways of work. I like to say that Smartsheet is Excel on steroids. With workflow management, communications, information presentation, and so much more, Smartsheet has upped our game! My companly likes to try out several platforms and Smartsheet has been the standout in terms of universal use. From finance, to investments, to legal, and more, this product is a winner!
If I had to identify a shortfall of Smartsheet, it would not be with the product, but with the resistance of my colleagues to learn something new. Luckily, Smartsheet has a "Motivator" program that allows power uses to have access to training tools and small incentives to bring people to the table to learn more about the program.
I believe that there are silos that exisist to some extent in every business. Smartsheet helps to foster collaborative planning and teamwork. I have seen progress in creating solid teams and having people come together to creat better systems and structures.
