I like the ease with which we can approve leaves of all the employees who are mapped under me which makes the daily work much easier. The integration of the HR tool was fairly quick and the customer support had sufficient Q&A section to answer all me queries. BambooHR has greatly improved our capacity to track worker performance, and streamline HR procedures, eventually promoting the expansion and success of our business. By automating repetitive operations, BambooHR has significantly lessened the strain on our HR team, freeing them up to concentrate on more strategic and value-added initiatives.
Despite BambooHR's many advantages, I think the pricing structure is one of its less appealing features. Being a tiny startup, we are particularly concerned with expenses, and BambooHR's pricing might be quite expensive for companies with little funding like us. It would be advantageous if BambooHR provided more customizable pricing options or plans designed to meet the particular requirements and phases of growth of smaller businesses like ours.
BambooHR is primarily used for onboarding and workforce management in our startup. Here, I have seen that the onboarding process has been a breeze, and the workforce management features work well like leaves approval which helps to do resource management from our end.
BambooHR has very friendly UX, a lot of possibilities for customization, a lot of built-in features without buying extra add-ons; meanwhile it has a lot of useful integrations to various software on its marketplace.
I would suggest to improve Performance management section, to make it more user friendly for a 360 feedback, make it ongoing and with possibility to include more peer feedbacks than just 2.
It is perfect HR Ops tool with good security level for personal data protection, I also like that it helps to make a proper HR processes flows out of mess in excels :)
I understand the semiannual alerts for performance appraisal and also the willingness of either the contractor and his peers to receive feedback. The method helps me to pick someone to privately assess another peer and give both support and incentives for change. The ability to PTO is also great, choosing a timeline and you'll see how quite enough PTO you would have on the said date, or direct report. It's great to plan and make sure that we don't have people who want to take 3 weeks of December holiday.
The limited apps that its mobile application provides make it tough to function on your mobile device because it does not encourage yourself to be quite as successful as while operating on the desktop edition. The market value is tough to sustain although as clients assimilate 3rd party devices, the cost begins to rise rapidly which helps to make you ultimately pay more of the plan's base price you've chosen, saying this you need to be very extra cautious, small business who have a limited schedule.
BambooHR has assisted us to better and more aptly organise our workers and everyones details. Everything that relates to employees lives through one position but is easy to locate. Workers have responsibilities for reviewing their records and performing their on-board and off-board duties.
Very intuitive and easy to use. Offers an incredible value for the price-point, great HRIS platform for small and mid-size businesses. Customer service is always topnotch, great API, and continually getting updates.
BambooHR has a really great employee-centric philosophy, very admirable. Drawback is that they sometimes push their philosophy on employee engagement into the product which occasionally causes hurdles. Example: We have over 1,000 employees in 14 Divisions, BambooHR used to show managers notifications of their Direct and Indirect reports birthdays and work anniversaries...GREAT feature that managers loved and utilized daily. They "enhanced" it and it now shows ALL employees...managers no longer find it useful as it is cluttered with employees from other states and divisions. Asked to change it back so managers can see just their relevant employees...the answer was "no" its part of their engagment philosophy.

BambooHR is very easy to configure and they have an excellent onboarding process for new users. Makes it simple and quick. Excellent supporting video content and support when needed and the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions on configuration. Excellent price point as well.
Functionality is inconsistent across the platform. In some areas you can choose deadline dates or ranges and in others the choice is fixed to a static 1 or 2 month before etc. It feels like UAT was not always done with a SME as anyone in HR could advise this functionality would be a challenge.
Allowed us to get rid of excel, have all employee data in 1 spot and significant lift using the ATS. Seamless and easy job posting to hire. Performance Management also allows us better sharing and functionality than we had before.
BambooHR is a great solution for our company. I use it every day at work. There are so many things that you are able to do through this platform. I typically use it most for requesting days off of work and looking up departments of co-workers. I also have a lot of "off-boarding" tasks that are assigned to me through bamboo.
I haven't always enjoyed the editing capabilities bamboo offers for certain sections. The ability to get things changed without going through a "change approval" is sometimes frustrating. I would like to see some improvements in this area moving forward. That would help the overall experience. I haven't run into this issue very often but I know that the option to add something to your personal space without jumping through hoops would be nice.
I am in charge of one of our corporate cards at work. One of the big responsibilities I have is to find the receipts my employees have used the card for and then attach those to the correct expense report. I have to look up and find which department these employees belong to so that the correct section of our company gets charged. Bamboo has been a life savor when needing to look these up. They even have a Chrome Extension that makes everything go even faster.
I love the performance evaluation and goal setting tool in BambooHR. We're often slaves to our inbox each day, and the email reminders to provide a review for an employee or to update the progress on your goals is a great way to make sure that these important tasks don't ever fall too low on the priority list. I also love how responsive the BambooHR support team is, and how they're constantly rolling out new features and tweaks every month in a never-ending effort to improve their product.
I wish the cost was a bit lower, though they do provide a nonprofit discount to us. I also wish the software was a little bit more flexible in handling paperwork for non-employees, like visitors and volunteers to our project site. Because the system is so secure and easy to use, we do use it to store all visitor and volunteer information anyway, but it would be nice if we could send emails without words like "employee" on them.
We're solving the problem of how to securely store sensitive personnel information for both current and past employees, and how to make sure that our personnel records are complete. We're also solving the problem of how to make sure each employee is receiving adequate feedback and setting goals to maximize their productivity. As a team that is spread out across three continents, BambooHR helps to centralize everything and make sure that nothing slips through the cracks.
It's the approach they use, you feel like they value your needs and try to help whether it's a customized field you invented and want to add or a bigger picture.

I use it mostly to store my employee's data, widely as a tool to keep track of my recruitment and vacations and sick days within the company.
