I love that I can create the things that are in my mind. I can think of something and make it happen.
I don't like that it has become a subscription based software. This frustrates me. It is very expensive to continue to use.
I use this software to design logo's for my workplace. I love being able to have multiple art boards in one document to be able to show the many different options at once.
I like that Adobe Illustrator has text flow functionality, allowing me to make the classic publishing style of text flowing around a photograph.
I sometimes have to create outlines before sending to publishing, which is a destructive one-way edit.
I use Adobe Illustrator for creating layouts for print and online. I've found it to be fast and efficient, and has helped the business immensely.
Illustrator is great for creating vector graphics. I especially like to use it when creating custom invitations, save the dates, etc.
Illustrator does not handle the images as well as Photoshop, especially when it comes to editing.
Illustrator helps our business easily create pixel perfect icons that can easily be saved out into .eps, .svg, .jpeg, and .png files which are easily transferred to all departments across the business.
I love the simplicity of the illustrator software. Everything in adobe works so well together making the transition from one software to the next easy. There is so many things you can do in illustrator. There is no software that compares.
There are some things that are in photoshop that i would like to see in illustrator such as guided alignment.
Creating graphics for advertising, video, logos, print, and more. Anything design related is done in illustrator or photoshop.
I like that Adobe Illustrator have data mail merge facilities which aren't immediately obvious. They are well worth trying.
I dislike that sometimes merged template documents do not save correctly with Adobe Illustrator.
We create direct mail documents using merged data sources. Adobe Illustrator can accept these merged data sources, and has the benefit that we can produce high quality variations that we couldn't previously create.
The intuitive interface and unparalleled synchronization with its sister programs
Can’t think of anything. It’s a great product.
Creating clean vector graphics for advertising and marketing pieces.
I enjoy working with Illustrator and all of the other Adobe Creative Cloud products, they all streamline together so perfectly, it makes it easier to jump between programs.
I think the worst part of Illustrator is just the learning curve, but once that is mastered you have all the tools at your disposal.
Illustrator has helped us design and vectorize logos and artwork for our clients. The tools available natively are set up to be able to export images in a way that they can be sent out to shops for merch and other marketing opportunities, thus making it easy to design, export, and print.
I love the variety of tools I can find on Illustrator. You have full control of your design with so many options on where to take it. I love the keyboard shortcuts they have for Macs.
Not meant for simple designs. Things can get over complicated.
Being able to take full control of my branding by creating custom icons and graphics for my business has been awesome.
Illustrator is the place to be if you need to be making something in the relation of graphic design, PR ideas, Marketing tactics, or anything really in that space. Illustrator makes it really easy and effective to make amazing graphics in unthinkable quality. Illustrator does majority of it's work in Vectors meaning that when you are designing something, the image or graphic isn't compressed into pixels straight away. The work is all saved in a scalable fashion
Illustrator has a lot of settings and preferences that for the beginning designer who doesn't have a basis or expertise in Illustrator , they could get discouraged or lost when using the product. It does contain some tutorials and explanations in the newer and latest releases however they don't explain everything about how to use it.
Illustrator helped us make graphics for your brand such as business cards, banners, logos, icons, etc. Since Illustrator does all of it's work in Vectors, we were able to export images and graphics into a Vector form where it could be scaled on practically any device's screen size that our users could be on. Whether that's their mobile phone, laptop, desktop or TV. The images all scale with them.
Illustrator is a powerful program that lets me look like a better artist that I really am. I use this program when creating training materials at our institution as well as fliers, cards, and other images for various presentations.
I experience quite a bit of system lag due to the immense size of this beefy program.
I create images for training documentation and presentations.
Adobe is hands down the best in vector based graphics
There is very little to dislike. I wish the the integration from program to program was a little smoother. ie. text copied into InDesign or Photoshop turns into a graphic box instead of staying editable
I use Illustrator on a daily basis for graphic design
My favourite thing about illustrator is how it helps me to manage a large amount of visual elements at once with ease. The userface is very beginner friendly especially if you've used other Adobe products in the past. The ability to export in multiple formats helps me to manage small file sizes in a variety of types. The program also works really well across the various Adobe programs such as Photoshop and InDesign and this greatly increses the ease of my workflow. Whether you're a graphic designer, artist or just someone needing graphics this program can work for you.
My least favourite thing about illustrator is that sometimes the preview on screen lowers the quality of placed files even if they print very high quality. Additionally, the program's live paint can sometimes be a little difficult to use as it's an intuitive function that can not always be manipulated fully by the user. Also, if the file size is very large and you attempt to export into certain file types often you can be told that the file is too high quality for export which can be an inconvenience for large dimensions.
I use Adobe Illustrator to create layout design, logos, diagrams, shading/line-work and art. I have realized that I'm able to iterate quickly and easily when exploring multiple design solutions by using many artboards.
The quality when making artwork with Adobe Illustrator is perfect with vectors even when we print at 2880 dpi on our large format machine.
It took me a lot of time to learn to use Adobe Illustrator especially doing the curves but if I write it down it is OK.
Creating artwork with individual pages with vector graphics is what we use Adobe Illustrator for.
i like everything about it. Illustrator has been my favorite program to design in for over 10 years now :)
no issues with illustrator. We be nice if there were more ways to save of the programs, but either way they are worth the price..
i am a Graphic Designer... so i am solving most of my business problems with illustrator & photoshop. I design everything i need in these two programs
You can create anything in this adobe illustrator and I love how they send me the quick video about a shortcut or creative things to do so I can learn while keep expanding my knowledge by using this program. Also I love how this complete each other adobe design like adobe photoshop (which is good for photo editing) and adobe Indesign which is good for creating a publication such as book, magazine, etc.
Almost nothing. The only issue is when you try to put drop shadow on the object and try to save it, it will slow down your computer and it makes me wonder if that process can be expedite or i will loose the data that i created completely. But overall, I love every feature appears in adobe illustrator and for a designer like us, it is very important to use this program everyday.
I usually create logos, icons, and illustration using this program. As you know, when creating a vector file you need to make sure the quality is good no matter they gonna enlarge it, so using adobe illustrator is the perfect program for most designer.
I like the easiest way to do vector graphics designing with lots of shortcuts to get the things fast. It offers lossless quality with no pixels, also can work on mutiple pages at a time.
It fulfil all my requirement when it comes to my daily works.
I daily use Adobe Illustrator for vector desiging, PSD for Mobile and Web, banner and and gif files for my daily works. It also helps me to save file to multiple formats.
I use illustrator for to make prop templates for my small prop making company. Simply tracing a 2d design from a video game or movie on it and scaling it up to print out and use as a temple. I really enjoy how easy it is to use once you get the hang of it.
There’s nothing really that I dislike about it. Like I said I use it for a pretty basic function and it works great for that!
It allows me to make templates for my small business. It has really benefited me in that aspect
There are a lot of things that I love about this program. I work for an apartment management company on a college campus, so we are constantly looking to design things and create graphics for social media. Although there was a bit of a learning curve, once you learn how to use the program, it is really easy to get your work done quickly. I love that you can save color pallets so it is easy to use the exact colors that you use over and over (ex. the colors in my company's logo).
I dislike that, although all of the adobe products work together, they don't all necessarily phrase things the same way. I have had some difficulty with things being one way in Adobe InDesign and another in Adobe Photoshop and yet another in Adobe Illustrator. This is frustrating because although the programs are all similar, you basically need to relearn certain things in each one because the way to achieve things is different.
There are a lot of business problems that have been solved by using Adobe Illustrators. We create a lot of graphics for social media as well as a lot of posters. It is super easy to create what we need, import and export, and more. We previously used free online programs to create graphics, but we can do so much more using Adobe Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator is the best known software for professionals and students because it is the most popular, the main design tool used by professionals for the last years, and also it is an advanced tool created to assist vector development and creation of advanced illustration and graphics design. It works in complete perfection with other adobe applications and make the work easier and more productive. The interface of the software is very organized and neat. Another great point of the use of this tool, it is the fact that there is a huge source of educational material available online to guide and help new users to improve their abilities. The developer also offers many options to pursue a license that can fit in your budget.
To install Adobe Illustrator in the computer you need to be aware that it is a heavy software and your computer can get very slow sometimes while you use it. I usually work with other Adobe software applications running at the same time as Adobe Illustrator to save time while editing files. You should see the configuration of your computer before use this software.
I use Adobe Illustrator to assist in minor designs and create charts to illustrate texts and small articles. I am not a graphic designer but using it for some years helped me improve my skills creating vectors and helped me save time and develop original designs. This tool is useful for anyone that wants to create some graphic.
