Easy to use with a nice productive interface. Easily add/update contacts on the fly. Automatically attach emails, notes, documents with a click of a button.
This is a very unstable application. In all my years, I've never seen an application with so many varying errors.
Contact management. My department can easily keep up with contacts by looking at previous notes from other colleagues.
Customer & technical Services are great. Spoke to technical Support few times over past few months.I believe it was Chennai Center. Very courteous and professional services.
Frequent updates takes lots of time for business people like us. At times updates are complicated and need support of Tech support which results in time delays.
My work is spread vast over activities and people. ACT allows me to customize each different work area and add necessary data components and field to fit the needs
I have used ACT! since version 1. I like the flexibility to search by nearly any aspect the the database. The tracking of sales contacts and incorporated tools. Customer service is good and the user groups plus knowledge base is also very helpful
The interface with other applications is sometime delayed in development. (4 to 6 months sometimes) My personnel inability to utilize many sales related facets of the robust application
Act currently holds 14,000 contacts accumulated over 25 years. We are in a unique services area where the once every 5 years requirement of special services requires the ability to search for the service provider of 5 to 10 years ago. ACT helps me accomplish this search.
Act database is easy to use and templates can be customized to your liking.
In my version of ACT the search function can't be used for quires with 3 or more search commands.
I use ACT for keeping track of my progress with each client. We've been using this software for many years and have an extensive database. It's a key to our businesses success.

Having Act! in our arsenal has really helped improve sales and keep all of our customers happy. The fact that you set calls and can upload all the documents right into ACT! helps keep every thing organised. Easy to implement and does not require a rocket scientist to use. The google integration along with Outlook helps us every day with reminders that pop up and make noise. This stops everything your doing in ACT! and makes you read what the reminder is. This gives you a clear picture of what your next objective is.
The only problem we have is random crashing with never versions of windows or Microsoft Outlook. Tech support is amazing and will fix any issue you have with a simple call. The look of ACT! is a bit aged as well. Has a 1985 look that need to have a better GUI. I think with time ACT! will just keep getting better and better. I am always looking forward to the next update and mobile use.
The most beneficial part of having ACT! is being able to track all of my sales guys from anywhere I need. the software does not require the internet which makes everything easier for all of us. Staying on top of my potential clients is a major necessity and this software really fills that issue for us. Being able to stay Mobile is great!

Act! is so helpful in keeping me organized and managing my properties and clients. I use it every day! Every time I come in contact with a client or customer, it's easy to make a note of the contact info; and every email that I send attaches to the contact's record, providing History throughout the years. We've been using Act! for over 20 years, and it's gotten very comprehensive for our needs and encourages follow up with the clients. The program provides seamless interaction between properties and contacts, and it's easy to synchronize with your cell phone as well. Customer Support is available with the Knowledgebase, or by phone if needed. At this point, we can't live without it! Well done, Act!
The one thing that is a drawback is the price. When we were able to purchase the stand alone version, it was worth the price, but we are not crazy about the new subscription version, where we need to pay every year.
Act! helps us solve marketing issues by keeping contact in house. We don't need to spend more to use other services to market to our clients.

Keeping track of all my contacts, not just those at my current company
I like the fact that this program integrates so well in my Outlook...I hate having to switch between screens to get data and this works very well in avoiding that. I like the fact that this works to help move things along, as opposed to some which can literally stall the process itself. I only used this for a short time in a prior role and wish it were more in use with other companies I've worked with since.
What I dislike is that this is really designed for manufacturing....again, i used it in a capacity with a metalization company and it was quite good, but the components to this software, including contact management are applicable across numerous other industries.
At the time, this was the only tool we had that allowed us to capture the sales process at a glance, knowing where we were at all times, all stages of the process. In a manufacturing or industrial application, this information is exceedingly important.

I like the ability to sort data that this software acquires. The speed and simplicity of these processes are usually intuitive, giving coherence to the information obtained, mentioning keeping the history of the searches carried out, and recovering it at a time of loss in a matter of second, being one of the most peculiar characteristics from my perspective, without excluding that as a CRM system, it satisfactorily fulfills its projections giving a complex operation and at the same time effectiveness and certainty in its operations.
Apparently, the customer service system has significant drawbacks throughout the service it offers to its users since they do not usually respond in the normally established time, leaving doubts about its operation since it acquires somewhat confusing tools that drive a poor labor management.
We use this software as a fundamental principle due to the exact order of the data that we acquire in our company, promoting a more detailed coherence, mentioning that through ACT! We agree to implement general metrics in the organization's technological servers, from the assistance of a significant or potential individual to the time it takes to return to a client who needs information for their peculiar business development. We like to use this server because we offer exclusivity in the services we provide.
Very happy with the organization and user friendliness of the software. Ability to create custom queries for advanced searches is also very helpful.

My Act! database doesn't always sync with outlook so I find myself having to manually add-in emails which is laborious and cumbersome.

The customisation and ease of use of this application are incredible for someone unfamiliar with databases and CRM packages.
Unfortunately, this flexibility comes at the cost of some weird quirks due to the .Net Framework front end. Adding new contacts to a company takes nine mouse clicks. Nine!. So much of the interface is counter intuitive, needlessly cumbersome and cannot be changed. Without a complete rewrite of code it won't be changing anytime soon.
With all that being said, if you can handle the idiosyncratic quirks of the program it can be very powerful. I've used it to build a marketing database that is quick and easy to use. I'd highly recommend it if you need something powerful, flexible, yet easy to use without needing to learn Access or SQL.
I love that each email, note and history or activity are attached to the actual contact's record. I can take detailed notes.
