"A complete low code platform for software development teams trying to build serious applications"
What do you like best about WaveMaker?

Its installation in our environment went smoothly, with the support of the WaveMaker helpdesk. Its easy-to-grasp graphical user interface aids the solution's administration. Eight developers were trained to use Wavemaker. They produced 13 business applications spread across different functional domains. Getting started with Wavemaker is made easy by well-structured, practical documentation, which is regularly updated. In addition, the capacity to choose embedded technologies makes it easier for developers to understand how Wavemaker works. The CRUD part of the applications is created quickly and easily. The integration solutions offered correspond to market standards and meet most of our needs (SAML, LDAP, WS Soap, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Prefabs are practical and save time by industrializing our applications' recurrent features. The standard capabilities of WaveMaker allowed the new applications to be integrated smoothly into our environment. Obsolescence management could be tested through the switch from Angular JS to Angular: the transition was well controlled, and adaptation costs were low. Applications produced are aligned with market standards, responsive and efficient. Load tests carried out on some of them have been successful, and the applications' performance fully meets our expectations. Pramati's support team has been mostly responsive, and we appreciate our regular exchanges, which contribute to developing the product roadmap.

What do you dislike about WaveMaker?

1. An integrated IDE would have been a plus to support the new applications' step-by-step debugging. 2. Lack of flexibility in managing developments on a corporate GitLab. 3. Some difficulties to integrate the new versions in our environments (we work with an on-prem version)

What problems is WaveMaker solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were facing the following problems with our traditional approach : • Modernization on top of legacy technologies was cumbersome and involved high latency, and existing systems did not support open-source technologies. • Existing technologies could not interface natively with other internal and essential systems like SAML and LDAP. • Some existing technologies were expensive, and their licensing model was not cost-effective • Delay in go-to-market with application updates arising from Government policies and rules that are subject to change over time WaveMaker offered the following benefits : • Development of more than 40+ applications underway, integrations with internal systems made possible, and satisfied users across the board. • Visually appealing applications using easy drag and drop UI elements that could also support SOAP-based web services • OCSIN is making great strides in its modernization journey with WaveMaker’s open standards-based low-code platform. • Some of the critical results achieved so far include: Support for latest technologies like containerization, web services, and SAML Greater economies of scale with developer seat-based licensing • Seamless integration with other internal systems like LDAP, EDM via web services, desktop publishing in a native manner • Transparent version upgrades on technology changes are now possible • 8+ completely functional applications have been created and deployed, and all others are being refurbished or developed anew

"Amazing product, a real shame about the huge price rise"
What do you like best about WaveMaker?

The possibility that other business users not just developers can contribute to the development of our applications. For example our graphics person can help with design, allowing our developers to focus on their work and speed up the development phase and get to market faster. The ease of use for less experienced employees to learn and be involved in new product development is a huge benefit to the company, as getting input from other staff members makes for a better product. My developers really love the ease of migration from our legacy systems using Wavemaker, and I would use it for my new company if the pricing structure had not changed. WAVElens is a huge bonus and time saver, to be able to preview apps without all the fuss it a massive benefit.

What do you dislike about WaveMaker?

The PRICE !!!,, Wow $60,000 USD per year minimum, this is a MASSIVE jump in price and pretty much eliminates startups from utilizing the software. New business / tech start ups, could not afford this as part of their initial budget on top all other other tech requirements needed to deploy their applications. Support is OK, but due to not being in their time zone I have to wait almost 8 hours for a response.

What problems is WaveMaker solving and how is that benefiting you?

Speed to market for ideas or MVP's and the ability to use WAVElens is a game changer. One of the other problems in the past is getting the non tech people to be part of a project, this is critical to my business, as they are the people communicating the needs of the clients, when they can see fast development and preview things and work with the developers to make change son the fly, it impresses both myself and the clients.

"Low code platforms - A forward looking ways of working"
What do you like best about WaveMaker?

I had recently written a PoV on BizDevOps. It focuses on objectives of having a faster feedback loop between what market needs and how business can make decisions. Adoption of such low code platforms like WaveMaker is the forward looking architecture of the same and achieve the right BizDevOps setup. Traditionally business used to get involved during beta as the language (code) written by development teams was not understood by them at the instance of writing the same unless it's available visually to them (which is far late in the development cycle). The wavemaker like solution will give a tool to business to look at the code in an understandable flowchart like format to enable them give fast feedback. Many fold use cases are possible due to this. For ex. Deciding what functionality is getting delivered and what is the KPI that it will deliver in production. Considering we work in agile business wants to launch as quickly as possible with a MVP based product focus. Hence making functions visible to businesses as early as possible helps in getting fast feedback and it helps in prioritization of what function is most important to be delivered first and how to limit it etc. in real-time.

What do you dislike about WaveMaker?

Nothing in particular but any thing which is not working for u can be definitely improved as we want to break shackles of working traditionally.

What problems is WaveMaker solving and how is that benefiting you?

Adoption of faster feedback loop from business team and involvement of them along with dev and ops teams.

"Listen, there's a computer inside another computer. "
What do you like best about WaveMaker?

Management is super simplified when you don't have to worry about a zillion physical connections. Being able to scale down a datacenter by moving 10 cabinets worth of stuff into about 3 is absolutely brilliant. There's also the ability to easily scale up. Need more compute? - add more hosts or (just vMotion your machines to another host host) upgrade existing hosts! Need more storage? - Add on to your SAN or if you're using vSan, just put more storage on your hosts.

What do you dislike about WaveMaker?

The initial investment for licensing can be kind of rough but even compared to Hyper-V's free model, it's totally worth it. Performance can still be a challenge when using shared storage for applications requiring a lot of IOps

What problems is WaveMaker solving and how is that benefiting you?

Datacenter management keeps getting easier the more systems we virtualize. Hardware costs are easier to handle. Setting up labs is a breeze. Better server availability with HA and vMotion Easy to migrate or clone a machine between datacenters.

"Easy to use and free to expand"
What do you like best about WaveMaker?

It's based on opensource platform (Angular) which means I'm not locked in to their service and I'm free to host my code on my own server. A well built platform for both beginner and advanced user. Most of their functionalities and features are well documented. They do consider your suggestion seriously.

What do you dislike about WaveMaker?

Interface can be improved (Drag & drop of components) Price is very high. I do hope that they have cheaper options for individual developer (E.g. small business owner)

What problems is WaveMaker solving and how is that benefiting you?

Creating a simple yet fully functional web app

"WaveMaker: A Low-Code Review"
What do you like best about WaveMaker?

I liked that widgets and variables can be created with low to no effort. You drag and drop the widget and WaveMaker will automatically generate the HTML equivalent code and you can customize the features of the widget with your created or imported variable, such as events, default value, and many other things. The most thing you will be working on is probably the styling.

What do you dislike about WaveMaker?

If you applied styling to a page, sometimes the editor will also get affected, like the size of the window box you are currently in. The variable is also seemly bugged, in a way that a variable element sometimes disappears that you need to toggle the option again to make it appear.

What problems is WaveMaker solving and how is that benefiting you?

Since the months after I got introduced to WaveMaker, I have solved a training problem in which I explored the features WaveMaker has to offer (Creating a simple add and update table) and a real project in which I improved a page to make it more efficient. With WaveMaker, I don't need to write HTML pages manually except when it really needed, which reduces time and complexity in work.

"Wavemaker rocks"
What do you like best about WaveMaker?

The autogeneration of code and ability to access backend code lines makes this low-code builder awesome. Being able to access code on the front end navigation as well as back end is superb

What do you dislike about WaveMaker?

I'd like to be able to start with a bootstrap 4 theme template. A simple upload theme tool using existing Bootstrap themes would be awesome.

What problems is WaveMaker solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are working on a beta version of our app and have the skills to accomplish this in a low-code environment saving us $100k+ in development costs
