Plenty of great content. Live lectures are great to get the background on the slides. Powerpoints for independant reading and learning. Models for example templates.
I think there could be more business relevant learnings.
It is helping me get up to speed in areas that I would not be able to through my own work.
The courses and programs that are offered
How confusing everything is for students and admins
We can have students log into one LMS with the Coursera intergration
Has great information that’s broken down into small pieces so you can easily understand each area of a system and how it works in a computer.
It is a little pricey and wish there were more price options
I am learning more about excel and also looking into design. It's beneficial bc I can dip my toes in to see if I like what I'm pursuing.
I like that i can get my courses from the wellknown universities all over the world. It is good to write it on your resumee or Linkedin account. There are some courses related to every subject you need.
It might be expensive especially for the countries which are bıt using euro or dollar. There might be special prices for digferent countries. What is more. Some courses were free a few years ago, know it is nearly not possible to find a free course.
I am working as digital analytica and digital marketing manager and it is hard to find ant updated courses from phycal universities. I can get up to date courses in this area with using Coursera.
I could find every single lecture-type in this tool. As a professional, I can find lectures from business schools that are beneficial. In sum, the variety of classes and availability of prestigious universities are what I like best.
Sometimes, it took costly to get a whole course. I need to be some free courses like at the beginning. But now nearly there are no free courses. In addition to that, there need to expand the subtitle langue types for all kinds of classes. There are very few varieties of languages selected in categories.
I can improve myself. I could get a lot of personal development courses. For communication, lessons variety and lecturers are good. In addition to that, finance courses taught me how to keep and make money
I really like the way Coursera is set up to learn at your own pace. It's quite helpful how the interface provides a lot of insight about the time something will take to complete, how many lessons are left in a unit, etc. There's plenty of variety though and the platform is flexible in accommodating various different topics of classes that might require a more customized layout.
I wish Coursera would take on more instructor based courses; it would really give them a leg up in the game. There's just not a whole lot of accountability when most assignments are peer reviewed. It would also help students stick to the class and finish assignments on time. I also wish Coursera would continue to try different ways to set up Course interfaces to make a better learning and course experience.
I'm in a UX design certificate program.
I like the variety and diversification of courses and their value.
The amount of e-mails sent to me from the courses providers.
I learned a lot of courses and received many certificates
Many languages were supported and the aesthetics were simple. I liked the ability to use a mobile app.
I did not like the pre-recorded lecture feature. The community forum was also not very helpful.
I looked into Coursera to teach a course.
Top-notch information from leading professors on the field.
I started several courses but never finished. No feedback for assignment takes away the motivation. The student has to be fully self-motivated.
Learning to expand my expertise as well as to acquire knowledge in new fields.
I've taken several free courses there and as far as I can say, the quality is really good (well-structured, convenient etc.) As for effectiveness of the particular course, you can always review(audit) all the offered materials and decide if it is what you are looking for before paying anything.
The problem with Coursera are the moderation in the forums. From the few courses I have taken, many of my classmate were criticized heavily or bullied from other classmates for asking questions in the forum. This hasn’t give any attention with the forum moderators which makes the community feel unease with helping each other.
I have taken courses like, "Introduction with MATLAB" for educational reasoning. I was able to learn a lot with the videos the course offers and the homework challenges my critical thinking skills. Cousera also have courses which requires payment. But it's definitely affordable and worth than paying over $1000 on a course in college.
Most of the classes are free and from well known institutions
Some of the courses are intense and they don't give you enough time, you have to manage your time well.
Take extra courses for career development
Weekly exams and assignments related to the classes.
Timing of some courses is not suitable for all.
Some problems need troubleshooting, which requires some additional skills. Coursera helps a lot to get introduced to something absolutely new. Acquiring extra professional skills.
It is the best website out there to learn new skills. Period. Also, it is so easy to use and the courses are taught by the best professors from the best universities in the world. Totally worth every penny. But because I also use it in my mentor session in helping students learn new topics in an interactive way with the help of videos and online coding challenges.
It can get very pricey for students as most of them who are in college are not able to afford it in addition to their college fees etc. They really need to help students more so that they can help and benefit the society with a greater impact.
I mainly use it to help my mentees with programming and getting course certificates which can prove beneficial to their careers ahead because they are worth adding to their resumes and CV'S.
I think it really depends on the single courses. But speaking from a platform point of view, I like how it is organized, the possibility to have perform coding tests, the ability to play the video faster, the fact that, when I took the courses, there was a really wide amount of alternatives of topics I care about on the platform.
The fact that right now there are not as many courses I'm interested in, the fact the interesting ones are all accessible only after payment (before everything was free) and the fact that the involved institutions are not the ones I care the most.
The reason I took the courses was that I wanted to have an introduction on several close fields, and I got really satisfied with what was available on courser at that time.
The format and flexibility were very suitable to my needs. With a busy work schedule and many family activities during the evenings and weekends, the available time to actually view the course is inconsistent. Coursera allowed me to view the lessons at my convenience matching my schedule. The instructors were excellent, making the material interesting and fun to watch and learn.
Some of the questions on the exams were difficult to tie into the lesson conducted. Some of the deadlines were a challenge to manage with my schedule but the time-frames were clearly stated from the beginning. I knew that there would be weeks where things would get rushed.
I always had an interest and curiosity about statistics but didn't want to pay for a full course or spend the time in a traditional classroom setting. This gave me an opportunity to take a course on statistics in a comfortable setting and a chance to see what the topic was all about before I made any more serious forays into the subject matter.
Coursera offers a variety of courses that will help you learn and grow efficiently in your field.
Coursera offers many certifications but does not offer CompTIA+ certification
Cousera helps me gain knowledge that I need to advance my career. Coursera helps with getting promoted.
Coursera offers many free coursers on their platform
Many of the more advanced courses can be very time consuming for working professionals
Coursera has helped with continued learning and education as I've advanced in my career
I love how these lectures are recorded online which means you can go back anytime to revisit the content. This is convenient because in class lectures you can't go back listen to what the professor said. Also, I love the format of the site. It has a modernized look to it and it's easy to search up classes utilizing the categories they provide you.
What I dislike about it is that I can't reach the professors with questions about the course. Also, there aren't enough materials for me to practice on. Another issue I have is that some the timing some of these courses were not flexible.
There are no business problems I am solving with Coursera.
It had a large variety of course offerings to choose from.
I did not see any that were more rigorous in nature. The information presented was pretty basic. Some of the lectures were very boring as the instructor was monotone and basically reading slides.
I used it to review some subjects as a refresher course. This helped me in preparing information for my own undergraduate courses in areas in which I have not taught for many years.
I like that there is a large selection of courses available to chose from, and the resources are quite detailed. If I need assistance with anything I can reach out to the help desk and they are happy to assist
Coursera doesn't offer courses in Robotics Process Automation (RPA). I needed this for my work however they did not offer it and thus I had to go to another company. Their selection in mega/emerging trend topics is some-what limited.
Coursera has lots to offer on Big Data analytics. We are solving the challenge of switching over to big data platform from our old silo'ed and static databases. Coursera has plenty of useful information in that respect.
