"This has skyrocketed productivity"
What do you like best about Chatter?

The ability to approve expense logs on the go is an absolute stellar feature. Using the feed function I can also update purchase orders and raise support enquiries at the click of a button.

What do you dislike about Chatter?

The Salesforce1 Chatter app is a little sluggish. At times it loads really quickly and other times it crashes. This is used on our company iPhones running iOS12.

What problems is Chatter solving and how is that benefiting you?

My team feel more engaged now especially with the contribution scores function. This gives each individual a reason to contribute more using Chatter.

"Chatter works well across all teams and Salesforce users."
What do you like best about Chatter?

Easy for multiple teams to use. Minor announcements and updates can be shared like a forum for communication within the company. Account notes and opportunity notes can be quickly shared, and sales executives have visibility into account and opportunity movement. Helps maintain good Salesforce hygiene! Easy to read and post a question. Time Stamps are clear in the history of communication. I like being able to @mention my colleagues. Flexible enough to communicate some personality through its messaging. You have the ability to share articles, attachments, decks, etc that may be relevant. File sharing is extremely efficient, and the search functionality for files works incredibly well! Chatter is extremely user-friendly and offers standard social features, such as joining groups and following specific individuals.

What do you dislike about Chatter?

File size limits. Design/open, white space on the screen. The look and feel are very old.. Sometimes dates will be grouped into months. Occasional unneeded task reminders. Lack of built-in Dialer. Can be difficult to understand (I'm sure there are plenty of features I've never used). The software does not allow users to opt-out of emails so they end up clogging the inbox. There should be a way to filter and edit information sent by Chatter. This will give a more customized experience. Setting permissions can get tricky. Feels a bit siloed and can be cluttered with how comments appear. If you are not constantly following, conversations often get forgotten. The feed can push important announcements down prior to being seen.

What problems is Chatter solving and how is that benefiting you?

The sales team uses it to communicate inside Salesforce. Chatter makes it easy to refer to contacts, leads, opportunities, and accounts without leaving SFDC. Ability to conduct polls within a group or chat. Ability to comment and tag users on a thread. You have the ability to share articles, attachments, decks, etc that may be relevant. Allows management a view into conversations around multiple opportunities with multiple reps. Logs everything in Salesforce for reference later down the road, rather than losing the conversation in G-chat.

"Low Cost Team Collaboration Tool - Included with SFDC"
What do you like best about Chatter?

Chatter is included with our SFDC license, and we work exclusively out of SFDC, so we thought we might as well make use of it. We use it to @ mention team members on objects to notify them of things needing attention - namely with cases that are urgent. It is good for: - Communicating with team members inside SFDC. - Having direct reference to cases, leads, opportunities and/or accounts. - Keeps a record of all the related communications.

What do you dislike about Chatter?

The UI is clunky. The notifications only come by way of email. There is also ALOT of activity in the feed if you were just trying to follow along in SFDC... you can filter however. Our organization recently switched to slack for most internal communications - it's just easier to setup and use and has way more extensible functionality. Cons: - Customizable view. The look and feel are very old. - Formatting - You need to go to SFDC to reply. - Usage of emojis, embedded videos, gifs

What problems is Chatter solving and how is that benefiting you?

Chatter only works with Salesforce so the use is limited to Salesforce users. You can not communicate with external people. It works great for the Salesforce related things, pulling the chatter from the CRM is convenient when referring to prospects or clients and to have the direct link in the same place. Chatter is being used mainly by the support department, other departments don't really leverage it. Others have access but don't use it as much. In the support department, we sometimes use it to communicate inside the Salesforce platform and it makes easy to refer to cases and accounts without leaving SFDC.

"An Enterprise social network and collaboration software that connects every employee."
What do you like best about Chatter?

Connect employees to work easily across organizational boundaries. It is used as company intranet or employee directory.Chatter allows users to manage their feeds and control how notifications are received. Salesforce offers Chatter in desktop and mobile versions.

What do you dislike about Chatter?

You need to be Salesforce user for full access. Salesforce licenses cost more $700/user per year for the proffesional version. Best for mostly large organizations,Smaller firms with fewer locations have less need for this sort of collaboration.

What problems is Chatter solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cut down Email exchange by communicating with employees through tools provided by chatter such as the news feed, group forums, file sharing, and online chat.Used chatter to share project updates privately,to group members,or to all followers and then track comments on message thread.Chatter connects us to people throughout the organization,we can get answers to questions quickly from people in any department or location. We use group forum to brainstorm ideas, share files and links ,post project updates ,recognize performance etc.It gives everyone a voice ,which means everyone participates and brings ideas to the table.Maintain a healthy employee culture by keeping remote employees in the loop.

"Common forum for Salesforce Users to post and view Activities."
What do you like best about Chatter?

Chatter is a place in Salesforce where users can post and view the activities they have access to see. It acts as a common forum for the Salesforce Users to Post the Activities. It can be used with multiple automation tools like Process Builder etc. There can be automation written on chatter to Post the feeds like Sales of the Company with multiple Criteria. Chatter is one place where you can assign tasks to other users, and you can notify the users with a Feed/Activity to take care. Chatter is an essential tool and forum in Salesforce to keep the teams in sync with each other.

What do you dislike about Chatter?

There is nothing to dislike about chatter as it is the Common forum required in Salesforce to keep everyone updated with the latest feeds. They can work on the User Interface of the Chatter to make it more attractive for users.

What problems is Chatter solving and how is that benefiting you?

The Major problem solving with Chatter is that we can post the feeds within a Team, and people who are part of a group or have access can see the feeds. Activities and tasks can also be aligned, and notification will be passed to the user on Chatter. Automation tools can use it like Process Builder, which can Post the feeds when specific criteria are Meet. We can share News files on the chatter in the Public forum.

"Best features of salesforce."
What do you like best about Chatter?

We can easily use the "Mention" features of chatter feed to get feedback faster and communicate seamlessly across teams about project updates. We can easily create groups, polls, and comments. If required we can share the attachment as well through these chatter features. We can send an email as well through the chatter feed. Even we can implement the API with the chatter so that we can tag, comment, attach files within a second.

What do you dislike about Chatter?

I believe we cannot send a private message through the chatter. and also I have not seen any date filter to find the old chatter quickly. We cannot send an email to the external customer through the chatter. It means external customers won't receive an email in their inbox when we send through chatter feed. Apart from this, I don't remember any negative points.

What problems is Chatter solving and how is that benefiting you?

1) Updating the comments. 2) Sending an email. 3) attaching the file to the chatter. 4) Tagging / mentioned the case requester for any updates.
